Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) - Baited Remote Underwater Video Station (BRUVS), Australia (1999 to present)

Latest version published by CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere on Jul 23, 2018 CSIRO Oceans and Atmosphere

Recordings of marine organism attracted to baited underwater video cameras (BRUVS). BRUVS are deployed in groups of 4 – 6, separated by approximately 450 m, for approximately 60 minutes. The spacing and deployment times are designed to achieve independence of each sampling set. Information gathered include time to arrival, maximum number of species seen and basic behaviour.

This dataset is an aggregate of many surveys. Use the AIMS Data catalogue search page (https://apps.aims.gov.au/metadata/search), searching for BRUVS to identify the datasets of interest.

Taxa have been matched to the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS).

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 33,851 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Downloads

Download the latest version of this resource data as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A) or the resource metadata as EML or RTF:
